VENTURA EDUCATION assumes that, by starting an online application, candidates have read and understood the privacy policy of VENTURA EDUCATION. All data provided by applicants will be saved into our internship database, solely for internal use only and will not be released to any thrid party orgranisation or used to meet commercial goals. All data presented is secured by the Data Protection Act 1998.

Therefore, by willingly starting an application, we ask that all personal details are submitted correctly and all questions are answered truthfully. The information submitted to VENTURA EDUCATION will be used in conjunction to support your application during the recruitment process and for any required documentation thereafter. VENTURA EDUCATION is an equal opportunity employer.

Our online application process allows you to leave the application at any time you wish and return to it at a later date (provided that you have correctly entered your e-mail address upon starting the application). You will receive an e-mail from us informing you about the period in which updating your application is possible.

If you do not update your application within the given time (usually 7 days) we will assume you are no longer interested in obtaining a work placement with VENTURA EDUCATION. We will consequently delete your data from our internal system. If your application has not been successful, your data will also be deleted, after notification.

If candidates find that they do not agree to the privacy policy of VENTURA EDUCATION, they may cancel their application at any time. Candidates may also wish to contact the HHRR team to have their data deleted from the VENTURA EDUCATION database.

1. Be on time:

Being punctual is one of the most important qualities. Being on time shows that you are organized and able to respect the deadlines. Moreover, your employer will trust you with more responsibilities, because being punctual signifies being trustworthy.

2. Be respectful:

Mutual respect is the basis of all relationships, either if it comes to your personal or professional life. You have to respect the environment and the people around you. Respect passes through gestures, so try not to destroy something that is not your property, respect your colleagues’ work and the company’s policy.

3. Be Dressed properly:

You have to follow a professional dress code to gain the respect of others. It it not enough to only dress properly, you also need to take care of the details. It’s important to know how to dress yourself for special occasions.

4. Be helpful:

There is a quote “help your neighbour” that fits here very well! Especially in business, this quality is of great importance, as the working place is a place where you’ll come across a lot of problems that you have to deal with. If the colleagues don’t help each other, the working relationships will become worse and the whole business will suffer of it.

5. Be friendly:

A friend is always needed both in your school and your working place. Having friends helps the communication. Being friendly with your colleagues can only be of great benefit to the teamwork.

6. Be a team worker:

It is essential to know how to work in a team. Indeed, companies hire employees who are able to work on a project with several people rather than by themselves. Teamwork means sharing ideas and getting different point of views on an issue. Teamwork helps the business to grow.

7. Have a PMA:

Positive mental attitude is very important in the working environment. You have to enjoy what you do in order to give the best of yourself. It also motivates your colleagues.

8. Use your skills:

You should strengthen your professional skills, but also develop your personal skills by being curious, dynamic and patient, that will help you be better at work. These skills can be your best tools at work.

9. Be polite:

Since you were a child, you have been taught how to be polite, kind and respectful to the others. This is a very important quality in business and in life in general.

10. Share your knowledge:

One of the main values that can be found in a company is the knowledge possessed by the staff. As it is passed down from generation to generation within the organisation, it is never lost. Thus, when you are new in a company, the old employees can teach you their skills before they leave. Then, when it’s your turn to leave, you pass on your knowledge to a new generation of employees. 11. Be organised:

The first thing you should do is to manage yourself. Indeed, being organised is the best way to be really efficient. In this way, you can finish your work in time. 12. Take responsibilities:

If you want to have more responsibilities at work, you have to show your employer that you can be a leader and that you want to manage. Moreover, do your work correctly, respect the deadlines, be a hard worker and create a good working atmosphere. Thus, you will be able to do your best.

You have to believe in what you say in order to make the others believe in you. If you are not sure about what you are saying, you will not be able to convince the others.

15. Be a good listener:

You will always find people that know more about some topics than you, or at least people with a different point of view. You should always pay attention to what your co-workers say because you can learn a lot from them.

16. Be trustful:

If people can’t trust you, you will meet issues both in your personal and professional life. Thus, you need to be a person that people can trust.

Impress your colleagues, impress your boss, and you will have more opportunities to evolve in your company. People will rely on you and will give you more project and responsibilities.

18. Have good communication skills:

It is really important to make people feel comfortable when they are around you. If you communicate properly and politely, you will receive positive feedback.

19. Check several times per day your email:

Nowadays, most of the people uses the Internet to communicate with the others. You will receive many emails per day and people will appreciate that you answer them quickly.

20. Use appropriate manners regarding the situation:

You can’t behave or talk in the same way if you are out with your friends than if you are with your boss in the office. You have to learn which manners you should use in each situation.

21. Know your clients:

The more you know them, the better you will satisfy their needs. The client will feel comfortable, and they will have a great impression about you.

22. Be creative:

Being creative is the key to impress your client or your boss. This quality will allow you to share your ideas differently and develop more concepts for your company or in your method of working.

23. Be authentic:

Don’t pretend to be who you are not. You will not be comfortable, and it will be hard after a while. The best way to integrate yourself in the company is being yourself.

24. Be unique:

Because your personality can do the difference during a meeting or in your daily work, use this strength to make people impressed and gain esteem from your co workers. Do not forget that being unique make your work and your ideas unique that is why you can bring power to your company.

25. Leave your mobile phone away:

For most of people, their mobile phones are now part of their body. Nevertheless, it is not a good behaviour at work because it means that you do not entirely involve yourself into your tasks. Moreover, you will be less concentrated, and you will loose your time.

26. Be aware of cultural differences:

Since workplaces are usually a combination of different people from different nationalities and cultures, it is important to know how to deal with each of your co workers. The communication will be easier if you are aware of these cultural differences and you will be able to limit misunderstandings and conflicts.

27. Be confident:

When you are confident that can be seen in your work, in your gesture or when you speak. It’s a way of being, we weren’t with that, but we learn it thanks to a lot of situations and practice. That means that you don’t have to worry about being ridiculous when you do something or don’t be afraid when you speak in front of public.

28. Do not be too relaxed:

You have to be confident and relaxed at work if you want to gain the confidence of your colleagues and appreciate your work. But being too relaxed is not a good strategy. It could mean that maybe you are not really confident and you are trying to hide something with too much relaxation or that you do not care of your work. So be relaxed without a devil-may-care attitude.

29. Do not mix your private and your working life:

What happen in your private life do not have to alter your work and your efficiency. It is not something easy to do but you have to step back from your personal problem if you want to keep good relations with your co workers and do your work properly.

30. Do not gossip:

In general gossiping is a big flaw but at work it is even worse! In order to avoid useless conflict with your colleagues try not to gossip about your neighbour or the secretary of the 1st floor. This will be better for your popularity and you never know who you are speaking with!

31. Do not be rude:

This rule is applicable at work but also in your daily life. Being polite is a “must do”! If you want to be respected by your colleagues, not be rude and find other solutions to resolve your problems. Be respectful in any situation.

32. Ask for permission before borrowing something to your coworkers:

You will not create a good atmosphere if you borrow some things before asking for them. Some people can see it as impolite and they may not feel comfortable.

33. Take care of your speak level:

Do not speak too loud or too quiet at work, or you may have some troubles with your colleagues. Or you won’t be understood or you will be noisy for your co workers. You have to find a right balance.

34. Take notes

If you want to be sure to remember all the information that people give to you it is recommended to take notes. Moreover, you have a proof of what your interlocutor told you. And of course, you look more professional!

35. Do not share confidential data:

It sounds like common sense, but you do not have to share confidential information about your clients or your company with anyone. This is considered as a serious misconduct and it can give you trouble for your future professional progress.

36. Avoid workplace tension:

As your office is the place where you will spend almost all your time, you need to work in a good environment and avoid tension between your colleagues in order to work properly and enjoy your work

37. Make compromises:

As everybody doesn’t have the same opinions or ideas you have to take it into account especially at work. Find solutions to make everybody happy and not create tension between co workers because you think that your idea is the best. It is a work on yourself but your relation with people will be better

38. Respect opinions of each others:

If you want others to respect you, you should start respecting others. In your work environment you will find people who think in a really different way than the one you think, or people from other cultures. If you don’t respect them, you will not succeed

39. Keep an open mind:

The more open minded you are, the best relationships you will have in your workplace. By keeping an open mind you will become more creative and you will be able to find new solutions.

40. Solve problems:

Nowadays what the companies want is people who will solve their problems. Companies don’t need more ideas, they need someone who acts, who put in practice those ideas.

41. Be Hard worker:

The only way to succeed at work is to work hard. The hard work beats talent, when talent doesn’t work hard.

42. Be Professional:

Your work is something serious, if you don’t take it like that, you may be fired. Being professional doesn’t mean just to make your job, but also how you behave in the office.

43. Do not make noise in the office:

Respect your coworkers when they work, you may disturb them if you make noise in the office and they will become angry. You will not create a good atmosphere and it could be a reason to get fired.

44. Take initiative:

You will find yourself in some situations in which you will have to act by yourself, you cannot wait until your supervisor tells you what to do, you have to act now. Don’t be afraid when that moment comes, just take the initiative and do your best.

45. Maintain a clean workplace:

It is not comfortable to work in an untidy or dirty workplace. You may have trouble with your coworkers. It is fundamental when your clients come to your workplace. Would you like to go as a client to an office and notice that it is a mess? They don’t like it either.

46. Take care of the work material:

The work material is composed by many things, they are your tools to work. If you don’t take care of them, you will find troubles to do your job and also, your boss will not like it if you don’t take care of it.

47. Helps the others:

In the same way that you will need help sometimes, help others when needed. Remember that you all work with the same goal. It is very satisfactory to teach and share your knowledge with others.

48. Ask help when needed:

It is better to ask for help when you need it rather than be proud and screw it up. By asking for help you will learn new things but also you will learn how your coworkers are.

49. Respect the deadlines:

The deadlines are what they are for a reason. There is nothing worse than not respecting them. It looks like you don’t do your best and many times not respecting the deadline means that the work you have already done is useless.

50. Follow your superior’s orders:

Sometimes you may not agree with what your superior says but you have to respect it, because it is thought to be the best for the company. If everyone acted in the way that they think is the best, without paying attention to what their superior says, it would be a mess and you would not reach your goals.

51. Avoid the criticism:

If you have a problem with some co-workers, go and tell them what’s wrong, but avoid expressing criticism, especially behind their back. It will create a very uncomfortable atmosphere

52. Keep a good work atmosphere:

The atmosphere is more important than it seems to be. There is a huge difference between working in a workplace where you feel comfortable or where you don’t. If your co-workers are also your friends, it will be easy for you to help them and if you feel at ease with them you will work better

You may find little mistakes in the work you have just carried out, so check it carefully in order to improve and do your job better.

58. Bring new ideas to the company:

Before doing it, learn how the company works and which ideas have already been examined. If you don’t do it, you will put forward suggestions that you think are new and, as a result, you will slow down the others’ work, since those ideas had already been discussed
